Sunshine Nursery - The Sunshine Room

The Sunshine Room is for children ages 2 to 4 years old. We follow the Early Years Foundation framework (EYFS). This helps us to provide a rich learning environment that is fun for all our children. We offer reasonable adjustments for children when they are needed.

Alongside our termly planning we offer a continuous provision which the children will enjoy. These areas include a home corner, cosy reading corner, building area, loose parts play, small world, creative area and an exploration station offering a choice of messy play. We have a sensory room in the setting which children can use if they feel they need some quiet time. The room is also used to deliver individual or small group or activities to our children.

We use different screening tools to check child development including the two-year check and ECAT (Every Childs A Talker) to track children’s development. All children will be given a keyworker who will be in their room with them to help them settle in. Your child’s keyworker will ensure your child feels safe and secure at nursery. This means children will feel more confident at nursery and will be more willing to explore and learn from new experiences. You can liaise with your child’s keyworker at the start or end of the day or via Class Dojo.

Our construction area encourages children to practice their building skills. Children help their friends to build castles and towers. They also learn to take turns and help each other.

We enjoy choosing our own colours and mixing them to make different colours. We love to draw and paint.
